A Quebec Town
Artist Statement-
I took this picture in Quebec while on my French trip. It was very cold, and so I bundle up in snow pants just to go shopping. The entire city's old architecture was like a look into a European town. I loved the different levels of the buildings in old Quebec, which is where I took this picture. The building at the top of the hill was a hotel, modeled after an old castle.

"A church of healing"
Artist Statement-
This church was also in Quebec. I loved the sharpness of the architecture, which made it a very imposing sight. The church was thought to heal ailments miraculously, and inside the church there was a wall of crutches. I thought the intimidating outside of the church was a nice contrast to the warm, healing interior. However, the exterior matched perfectly with the cold, snowy weather.

"The Mysterious Cabin"
Artist statement-
I found this cabin while hiking in the woods with my dad and my dogs. This was during a snow day. I thought the creepy, rundown cabin had a cliché horror movie feel. Along with the contrast of the red building with the white snow, it was a perfect picture. It was on a lake, so I imagine it had a completely different feel during the summer. The simplistic architecture of the cabin is also very aesthetically pleasing.

"The Stone Cottage"
Artist Statement-
This cottage was also taken in the same woods. I loved the large, organic rocks used in the foundation, and the asymmetrical build. My dad told my that a groundskeeper lives there in the summer, which I thought was quiet interesting. The quaintness of the building made me identify it as a cottage, as apposed to the previous "cabin".

"My House"
Artist Statement-
My house has a creepy, run down feel. My mom demanded that I edit some imperfections away, but I thought they added to the vibe I saw. The sky was grey and stormy, and my house is tall and skinny and old. Along with the skinny, leafless tree branches, I thought these pictures looked like a haunted house. I'm very pleased with the rundown, almost dilapidated and creepy feel of these pictures.

"The house on the hill"
Artist statement-
This is a picture of my neighbor's house on the same day I took the picture of my house. I liked the classic brick chimney, and the affect of the house being on a hill. The pretty gate also added to the classic feel of the chimney. I used to play in their driveway when I was young, and I always imagined it was a mansion because it was so much higher than every other house on the block. I wish the grass hadn't been dead, to make a prettier picture.
